Tomorrow is another day.

Yes, the sun is shining and a new day has dawned and we all move on.    The funeral was a moving one and a few tears were shed but today things are back to normal (whatever that is at the moment).

My son rang me last evening to tell me that once again his retina has detached on his eye.    It has happened several times and that they took him into hospital immediately and he had an operation on it.   He came home and now has to lay flat for a week, only sitting up for ten minutes maximum in each hour. As the Tour de France is on television at the moment he said that he thought that would get him through.   It is a worrying development but he is having the best care.

My day is fairly free today apart from my usual hair appointment, so I shall get a few more boxes packed and also ring my daughter in law and offer my help with household shopping as she awaits a hip operation and finds shopping difficult.

The sun is shining and it is a perfect Summer day.
The new shower has been fitted in my new bungalow (the buyers (who are moving in here and I am moving into their bungalow) have kindly allowed me to have it put in now), so after the hairdressers I went to choose the vinyl flooring and underlay and they were going up later today to measure up and get it fitted.   As the plumber has taken the bath out the vinyl of course just doesn't fit, so it is the first job done.

You are all going through it at the moment, aren't you Weave? Has your son considered attaching the T.V. to the ceiling to watch the Tour? Or watching it on an iPhone or similar?

Better still, watch some real sport such as the Test Match or Jo Konta winning at Wimbledon. Good to see you in a positive frame of mind Pat, enjoy this lovely day.

I am sorry to hear you son has the eye problem again. Not what he or you need at the moment. Thinking of you.x

How in the world does a retina keep detaching? Or, maybe don't tell me as I'll worry about it happening to me. Poor guy. That must be nearly impossible to deal with. Best wishes to him and daughter-in-law. Good to finally have some sunshine.

At least it's not raining. (It never rains but what it pours!) We're on our 4th consecutive day of rain and at least two more in the forecast.

Shame about your son's eye, hope they've got it fixed now.

Thinking of others shows what a kind heart you have, Pat.

That would do for me, I hate being incapacitated and I'm a very bad, whingey sick person

Hope matters improve. So he can still see which is good. Everything at once. Such is life.x

Hope you son heals up quickly and doesn't go stir crazy. Only able to sit up for 10 minutes every hour is a trial in itself. At least if you have to be in bed you could watch the telly. Poor fellow can only watch 10 minutes every hour.

Your poor son, hope it passes quickly for him. Great news about your bathroom xx

Goodness, your poor son!
I hope things come around soon. It seems you've had more than your fair share of troubles lately.
But, good news on the bungalow.

As my left eye has been (and still is) causing me problems which are rather worrying, I can fully sympathize with your son, Pat. So far, I have managed to avoid surgery, but who knows for how long.
Altogether, though, I am having a Very Good Life - especially right now, during my Yorkshire Holiday - and just wish I could send you some positive vibes!

I've just been reading your post about moving from place to place and friends . . . I've just moved to Halifax - a very different part of Yorkshire. I'm finding people wonderfully friendly but because I've been here not quite two weeks I don't yet know who of the people I've met so far will become long term friends. (Plumbers, plasterers and electricians have been filling the house with life but they will be gone soon. At least, I hope they will be gone soon. Sometimes it feels as if the necessary work will go on for ever!)
Wishing you all the best in hard times and with new adventures.

So sorry to hear about your son's eye problem and I am pleased that he is receiving good care. So much can be done these days. How helpful that you can gain access to your bungalow for alterations to be carried out before you move in. I am hoping I will get the same for my flat as I want parts of it redecorated and a new living room carpet fitted. Enjoy the lovely summery days and give Tess a cuddle from me - if she's the cuddly sort!

Sad about your son's eye troubling him again and enforced lying on his back, hope they manage to do something about it. I hope the move goes alright, leaving the farm will be a sad business, but you will have a new life in the bungalow, hope it has not got too big a garden.

Oh yes, Pat,- day follows day and pretty soon you will be settled in your new home and there won't be so many changes to upset you. It's hard to be calm when things are so unsettled. Thinking of you...
