The Farmer's View.

Several people (Rachel especially) have asked what the farmer thinks to our newly decorated bedroom.

Well, I asked him this lunch time.   His answer was, predictably, alright.   I then asked him what he thought to the paintings in there.   He said that when we first met and he came to my home, he saw all my paintings and he thought they looked good on the walls.

When he married me he expected the package to include me, my paintings and my pug (not really a farm dog) - and that is what he got.   So I hope that answers your question.

Dear Weaver, I'm a bit late with thanking you for sharing the photographs of how beautiful your bedroom looks in its newly painted color. I like the beach hut stripey wall hanging and the paintings very much, and think that they suit the room so well.

And that view from the bay window ... ahh, that is stuff of my country dreams.

Your reply to Rachel's question has made me smile. xo

That's what they call love Weave, and very nice too.

If he is anything like my husband he probably hadn't noticed that it needed redecorating.

"Alright" is high praise indeed in farming-speak.
When I did some decorating for my parents my father, himself a farmer, told me that all that matters is a small square of wall in the smallest room in the house - people sit and scrutinise that area every day, the rest of the walls nobody notices after the first few days!

I think he looked at the whole package and thought himself a fortunate man!

Hello Weaver!!!
You seem to be getting back to normal and good health again, I'm so glad!! As for the farmer, that was a rather sweet comment, don't expect more but reading between the lines!! For certain he knew exactly what he got that day !! Your bedroom look marvellous and I agree that the view is astounding, pity to cover it up. As for that drapery, the lovely hanging behind the bed, it is a piece of majestic decoration!!! The colours are really vivid and I was wondering if you made it yourself.
Have a nice week now!!!

I imagine "alright" is pretty much a standard reply from us blokes. If he's anything like me, as long as he gets a good night's sleep he couldn't care what's on the walls.

It's good to know The Farmer thinks the newly decorated bedroom has turned out "alright" :-)
When I had half of my flat redecorated earlier this year, I had mixed feelings, because the old colour scheme was still exactly how my late husband had done it, and it felt a bit like "getting rid" of his work. I wonder whether he would have liked the way it looks now. Maybe he answer would have been "alright", too.

We have just had our bedroom redecorated too. My husband's comment, when the job was finished, was what it's always been - "What does it matter, we've got our eyes closed most of the time". Typical male reaction, I think !

I love Coppa's girls reply - sounds much like the farmer!

Yes Fairtrader - Idid make the wall hanging myself, I used to be a keen
quilter before I developed a shake in my hands which makes sewing difficult.

Thanks everyone.
