Busy

Three appointments in one day is just not a sensible idea; my own fault as I made all three but by tea time I am beginning to wilt.

A trip to the Physiotherapist for my six-weekly 'going over' this morning.   Three quarters of an hour later I came out shattered as usual, but knowing that the manipulation of all my  bits and pieces would be helped along for another six weeks.

Then it was back home for a rapid lunch (only half an hour or so to prepare and eat it) of bacon, egg, beans and tomatoes.  Incidentally for the tomatoes I tipped some Piccolo cherry tomatoes I had into a basin and microwaved them for a couple of minutes and they were delicious.

Then it was off to the hairdressers.  Today was for a colour (yes, I am grey and yes, I do have it coloured more or less to the colour I was in my younger days - and the colour of my eyebrows to this day!) and back home just in time for the visit of the Chiropodist.   By the time she had gone it was time to have a nice sit down, so I made myself a whole pot of coffee (Taylors of Harrogate 'Lazy Sunday', my favourite blend), sat down with my book and indulged myself for an hour.

Having read Cro's post today about the glorious weather in France where he lives - temperatures of thirty degrees, I rather despair of the weather here which struggles to reach twenty degrees.   But at least it has been largely dry.   And, by the way, Cro's lovely weather is accompanied by clouds of flies.  We can do without them can't we?

I'm fascinated that even women of a certain age still feel the need to have their hair dyed, why is it not possible to live with grey hair. I'm sure that I read somewhere recently that grey is the new, in colour.

@ Derek,
I would love to let my hair go all gray but the front 1/3 of my hair is pure white but the back of my hair is a very dull gray. it is not a good look ! So I blend a little bit and brighten it all up. With all the drugs I take to keep me living my hair has taken a huge beating.
What I have left of it. I wish I had the beautiful white gray hair that my Mum had.
We all do something that makes us feel better.

Gosh three appointments one day ! I can only manage one. I had a cut and color today also.

cheers, parsnip and thehamsih

Maybe not 'clouds' of flies, but certainly lots of annoying Horse Flies. We have our compensations!

Three appointments in one day is normal for me - but then I do neither cook lunch nor many of all the other things you probably do every day. On the whole I guess you are a lot busier than I am, in a different way.

Six weeks between physio sessions seems a long gap; wouldn't more frequent appointments do you good?

I keep saying I will stop having my hair coloured when I reach 50, which is in 2 years... But will I really do it? It runs in my family to go grey/white very early; I started at 26, my Mum would have been completely grey by her mid-thirties. I don't care how "in" it is, I think the brown I used to have originally still looks better :-)

I have never thought of microwaving tomatoes - must give that a try as I prefer them coked to raw. Do you prick the skins first to stop them exploding?

It did reach 22C here yesterday though very muggy. This morning has started with half an inch of rain.

I wish someone would manipulate my bits and pieces. I have a bad back right now, which is a rare thing for me.

I wouldn't like the flies at all - the occasional one or two is OK but clouds, definitely not. It hasn't been a good summer so far but as I don't/can't sit in the sun I suppose it doesn't really matter to me.
Hope your coffee and reading time restored you after your busy day.

Too funny Pat... My eyebrows turned grey first...lol Everyone kept insisting and telling me no their blonde...lol i used to work outside in a garden center for years and assumed that well maybe they did get bleached by the sun but eventually i had to just lay claim to the fact that nope not blonde.... grey...........lol Ofcourse now the hair on my head is getting greys too so they match..lol Hugs! deb

Pat - I love the color of your hair in your photo; it suits your skin and eyes - and eyebrows! Some people can make grey hair look stunning, but on others it just makes them look (and therefore to a certain extent) tired and faded. Some people would your day a "spa day". ;-) Cheers.

Concerning colouring of hair... do what makes you feel good! I colour my own just to save a chunk of money (costs so much more when you have long hair!). We are in a lovely heat wave right now, high 20's, low 30's. I much prefer the heat to the winter with sub zero temps. -Jenn
