Fitness League

'Fitnessbeing relative, of course.

Wednesday is the day that we go to the Fitness League class for an hour of strenuous (for me) exercise for the over sixties.   It is done to music, which does help as it keeps us all moving.   But it is jolly hard work and I always come home feeling better for it but also absolutely staggering with the effort.   Today is no exception.

If John is reading this and wondering whether an exercise class might help him to lose that extra weight, I should tell him that one of the highlights of this class is a lovely lady who absolutely loves baking and who turns up each week with a box of cakes for afterwards (this week butterfly buns with butter cream studded with ju-jubes - delicious).

The news on the television has just shown fifteen feet of snow in some parts of the United States - the weather man assures us that it is not coming here - let's hope not, we don't want snow as early as this do we?

Knees bend and butterfly buns? Reminds me of a friend who used to go running every Saturday morning because the baker's van that came round on that day sold lovely doughnuts. He usually bought six!

P and me used to go swimming for exercise and have fish and chips on the way home.

I'm very glad its not on my side of the US! I'm on the opposite end and thankfully we are receiving rain. We need it so badly. More is predicted tomorrow and Saturday. Woohoo! Bring on the rainy season! Hugs! deb

Oh, no, I should find a sweet shop when I stagger out of my class--twice a week!?

I like the thought of an exercise class that serves dessert! :)
15 feet of snow? Goodness!
I heard that upwards of 7 feet fell in the Syracuse, NY area and that a number of people had died and the National Guard was working to rescue people. I cannot begin to imagine!
No snow here, just cold, cold wind.

I am in Eastern Oregon and it is like the Arctic tundra here. Bone chilling wind blowing the snow around...

We had a little snow and temperatures down to 22F here in North Texas. It's very early for us-I heard they are predicting the worst winter in 40 years!

What crazy weather the US is having. But here in Tucson it was a very nice fall day. We were the warmest city in America today. The high was 71 woohoo !

cheers, parsnip

What a stunning header photo Pat.

Ah, I can remember going to a work-out class when I was in my 20s and then it was straight down the pub afterwards!

I am a tad worried about the American snow, as what they get, we often get a fortnight later. Time to stock up on cat food and milk I think . . .

I think we in the UK are all a little worried that the US weather will spread over to here, as it often does.
Sorry, I was mistaken about the fifteen feet - it is eight feet, with drifts of upward from fifteen feet - almost as bad. And imagine when it begins to go.
Friends of mine, who live in Boston, Mass. once dropped their front door key in a snowdrift, in the dark and had to dig and search for it by torch light.

Well done for the fitness class. Any exercise is better than none even if it does involve eating cake afterwards!
I just hope we don't get the equivalent of all America's snow, in rain.
