Yarn bombing.

A craft group in our little town has
completely covered a bicycle with knitting in bright colours.   It stands in a shop window just where the Tour de France will pass.   This morning I photographed it as I walked past.   Not a very good photograph, but it is market day and it was very busy, so I couldn't mess around lining up the shot.   Still - you get the general idea.  Isn't it lovely?

What fun those knitters must have had working on the bicycle. It makes a very colourful window display.

The knitted bike looks fabulous. I just heard on the News that lots of little knitted jerseys had to be taken down which had been strung between lamp posts (for health and safety reasons). Yorkshire County Council spoil sports.

I love the idea of yarn bombing. Someone has done a tree near where I work. It looks great.

As the organiser of the knitted bike, I'm really pleased that so many people have enjoyed looking at our handy work. It makes the hours of winding wool around spokes all worthwhile!

It looks great! What a fabulous idea. I have an old bike in the garage that nobody's riding. I wonder where I could put it if I covered it in yarn? There's a nearby town that has a "Bike Derby" festival every summer. Maybe they'd be willing to display it somewhere? The library perhaps? I'll have to look into this....xoxox

Very inventive. Where do people get these ideas from?

Notice Gillt K's comment here - there has been such a lot of interest. It is nice to know that people appreciate the work that has gone into it.

Lovely and wonderful! What a great group of dedicated knitters these must be.

Clever - it always amazes me the time people put into yarn bombing - and for really no particular long lasting results - but fun to look at.
