Energy Levels.

Why is it that some days we have a surfeit of energy and some days we are totally lacking in energy?   I wish I knew.   It doesn't seem in any way connected to what I have eaten or how much sleep I have had.   Some days I almost have to drag myself around and am pleased to sit down and have a read; some days I want to be 'on the go' all day.    Today was just such a day.

Replanting pots by the back door with winter primroses, cleaning out the desk and replenishing the post card and envelope compartments, cleaning a few inside windows, cooking a lunch, taking Tess for a walk, going into town to the bank - and now, at almost tea time, sitting down to type this.

Would that I could be like this every day.   A friend has just called and when I told her she replied that I would probably be absolutely 'washed out' tomorrow - well we shall see.

Speaking of energy - I needed all mine to open two packs of envelopes bought from the newagent in town.  A gold strip to pull, which pulled off one cellophane end, then the other end of cellophane to pull off, then an inner card with the word 'envelopes' on it (I could see that from the transparent wrapping).   I had just emptied the waste paper basket - the wrappings, together with four unsolicited 'fashion' brochures advertising clothes I would never buy which came through the post this morning = and the bin is full again.   How many trees are wasted each year to rubbish mail I wonder.   End of moan for today - don't want to waste any more energy!

I know exactly what you mean, but have no answers either. Today is an energetic one for me. Let's hope it lasts all week... I have tons to do!

Please tell Tess that, yes, I do like her new bed!!

Same with me Pat! I am sometimes too tired to start the day. Yet I clean my house every week and keep everything tidy.
Thanks for your comment. What you said about my country is what I always say about Britain, which has so much culture and is full of beautiful nature.

I am just the same Pat. Today I was like a zombie plodding my way round the town and have felt exhausted all day. I do hope you won't feel washed out tomorrow - maybe a little tired after all today's activities but nothing more. And hopefully I will feel like playing with the vacuum cleaner and getting on with some of my coursework tomorrow.

It happens to us all though I really wish a lack-o-motivation day would pitch up when I have nothing urgent to get done (which is pretty much every day to be honest ;)

I could rant about junk mail as well but we don't get as much here as we did in London - thank goodness. London was crazy though and I'm sure your amount is comparable. Apparently there's some phone number you can call to have all your junk mail cancelled? I never got around to investigating further but it might be something for you to look into?

yes, why so much gratuitous rubbish?

Life circles around, I've found. Enjoy each phase: GO or slow, dear friend.

Oh dear, the same with me. Even a year ago I did so much more in a day that I can do today. I have to plan my days and week in advance.
For me it is all my health problems adding up and I really don't like it.

cheers, parsnip

I have those kinds of days too, Pat, and when they are the energy less ones I am grateful that I can stop and relax and catch my breath.

But the ones full of energy are more fun!

A couple of good questions here. I don't know the answer to either of them, but I'd sure like to know how you come to have a surfeit of energy!
I do agree that levels seem not to be related to sleep or appetite, but these days I only seem to get the lack days.

I think sometimes energy levels are connected to the weather

As to junk mail and unnecessary packaging - don't get me started!

Well it is certainly a relief to find that we are all the same - glad to say that I am still fairly full of energy today, so no ill effects from a strenuous day yesterday. Thanks for visiting.
