Meeting a Fellow blogger.

Today I had arranged to meet MorningAJ - we have blogged for a long time and she and her partner,K, were on holiday in The Lakes. We arranged to meet for lunch in Kirkby Lonsdale.

Everything went according to plan - we met in the bar of the Royal Hotel, had a coffee and then went on to Plato's Bistro for lunch. We certainly found plenty to talk about - poor old K hardly got a word in edgeways (sorry about that K).

Eventually we got chatting to the couple on the next table only to find that they live very close to where I live and we know people in common. We have promised to look out for one another at the fruit and vegetable stall on our local market on Friday as we both shop there every week. Isn't coincidence an amazing thing?

The weather deteriorated during the day and by the time I came home (a journey of an hour and a half, across the top of the Pennines) there was very heavy rain falling. But I did enjoy the meeting - it is things like this which make the world go round. And, incidentally, many thanks K for insisting on paying the bill and going secretly to pay it without saying a word.

The total of "Bloggers I blog with and have met" now stands at seven. And everyone has been really nice and a kindred spirit. What a difference blogging has made to my life - I hope it has made a difference to your lives too.

Even just reading blogs, as I do, is rewarding and I have met several bloggers and people on a forum that I post on. In fact a couple of weeks back we stayed with one such in Scotland and on the way back we stopped in Kirkby Lonsdale for tea and a sandwich.

I was just trying to work out how many bloggers I have met in the real world ---sometimes it gets quite confusing since I seem to know some people so well through their blogs alone.
Here are some I have really met face to face
Pat (Weaver)
Beth (BeeDrunken)
Sarah Laurence
Lori of Jarvis House
Paz of Paz's new york minute
Frances of City Views
Susanna's Sketchbook

Beth of Some Pink Flowers

Really blogging is a great way to keep in touch with kindred spirits.

I look forward to reading everyday the blogs I follow. And it has mad a difference in my live.
I have met two bloggers and they were both wonderful !
I hope to visit Yorkshire again and it would be great of we could meet, along with stops for me with, Titus, Eryl and of course Pat.
Wouldn't that be grand. I am so looking forward to that.

cheers, parsnip

I try to start each day with a quick blog update and feel quite deprived if there are more pressing things to be done. So far I have met only one other blogger but there are so many others who I would love to meet.

It was good to meet you today and we both had a lovely time. K doesn't mind that he didn't get much chance to speak. He's just pleased we had lots to say! I hope we can get together.again some time. X AJ

I have been counting up and I think I have met seven of my blogging friends, but I feel I know so many of you quite well from reading your blogs every day, and I hate it when life gets too busy for me to read at least a few each day. I know I shall never meet in person now I can no longer travel the long distances overseas, but blogging is such a friendly activity. Cheers

I've met several people who i originally only knew through blogs! it's always nice to do, and it proves that being social online can enhance rather than diminish your real life social life

I spend so much time blogging and reading blogs that I don't even get chance to leave the house!! In all my days writing a blog.... and I had my own website that was a blog even before the word blog was invented.... I think I've only met one other fellow blogger!! I'm far too unsociable for all that. Glad you had a good meeting though :)

Boasting (not really!) I have met up with sixteen bloggers, four of them twice, in America, and plan to meet ~ a dozen of them this July too. They are all from the one site (Six Sentences), but the downside was that when I began blogging in 2010 I made the decision to be totally frank in my opinions because 'of course' I'd never meet any of these folk. Am glad to say that the degree to which many became instant good friends is truly heartening.

I have a very good friend who I met on the internet when I first started using it but I don't think I have met any bloggers in person. Oh yes I did, just one, and she was very nice. She was a bit embarrassed though , kept telling me she was tired and that was why she sounded stupid. I didn't think she sounded stupid at all but there must be a strain I guess for some people.
