Early for this week's Poetry Bus.

Here I am, standing at the bus stop two days early. Sorry about that, Dominic, but I have friends for the weekend and shall not be able to blog again until around Tuesday; so rather than miss it altogether, here is my entry very early. Just in case the print is too small to read on the photograph - here it is:-

Ode to a Mirror.

Oh would that I
could see in you
the ME
that others see.

Have a nice weekend.

I know how you feel Pat, but sometimes I think it is just as well I can't see me as others do! Hope you leave the bus parked by the bus stop, I'm not quite ready yet.

Learn to see ourselves in others and others in ourselves? Ah, there is the the solution for all conflict, including war. A nice reflection, Weaver.

We be looking out, they be looking in! Great post, Weaver. It says more than it purports to.

Here's looking at you, Weaver! Sorry, couldn't resist. My mind has been decidedly blank in respect of this prompt (nothing new there though!) but I shall post something if I can. Am about to go away for a few days so won't be around to see the other passengers!

Sometimes I would..... but there would probably be more times that I wouldn't want to know.

What a good entry! If anyone reading this likes the mirror, they should check out the art and craft work of the person who made it:

Denise Burden

Oh, that's a good one, Weaver! I've tried to photograph myself in the mirror and it is not easy.

It's probably a good thing that we can't see ourselves, most of the time.

It might be nice to see me as others do ... if only once!

Robbie Burns would definitely like that one, Weaver!

Great poem Weaver, I really like poems like this, that say so much in so few words.

Think I agree with Heather. If I could see me as others do, and if I had an ounce of sensitivity, I'd probably run off to be a hermit.

Thanks for the comments - and yes, Poet, I did think of Rabbie when I wrote it!

I love it! The poem & the mirror (thanks Dominic for posting the link to the artist - I'll check it out in a bit).

I am terrified of knowing what others REALLY think of me - I mostly think that people are just being nice. Now isn't THAT a sad state of affairs?

What Bug said! I'm really glad I don't get to know what people really think - I'd be destryoed I'm sure.

Agreed, Weaver. I wish, too, that I could BE the me I imagine myself to be!

Weaver, I really like the profundity in your words.
This same concept of image is one reason why the Amish do not have mirrors in their homes.
