Rambo has arrived!

Looking suitably macho rambo emerges from his trailer, all strapped up with red reddle and raring to go. He surveys the field - nobody's taking much notice really. A few heads are raised but that's all.

He takes a few steps into the field and sniffs - slightly more interest as all the "girls" begin nonchallantly to drift towards him. He is a big lad.

Suddenly there is a mad rush in his direction - are they all keen to make his acquaintance? The answer is emphatically NO! The farmer has just deposted a mineral lick in the field and they all dash past him to get to the lick first.

So far there has been no interest whatsoever - he has spent today relaxing in the shelter of the hedge away from the keen North wind and well in the sun. The girls are all playing hard to get.

Good luck Rambo - go and do your stuff like a good boy!!

Hope Rambo does do his stuff. Maybe the girls are too busy reading Ovine Vogue Magazine to be bothered giving Rambo their attentions. Great post Weaver.

I love the angle on that photo! He is just looking out to see what awaits him. Perhaps you need to get him a gold medallion, a state of the art mobile phone, and a fast car!! Girls seem to like that sort of stuff down here in London.

Those Texels really are big sheep aren't they. Do you use all Texel tups?

Poor fellow! Still, if he plays hard to get, I'm sure they'll be after him very soon! He's a big, handsome lad.

On a different note, if you decide to adopt a dragon egg do let me know - I'll shot over to click like mad!

if Rambo does attract the ladies will that mean lambs in Spring or sooner?

The book below sounds very interesting, I know someone who would love that for Christmas.

Rambo's a handsome fella! I won't tell Tessa B about this post, though.

Maybe he has too much testosterone, you know? Like a well built man in a muscle shirt. Maybe if he could tone it down a bit, put on a loose t-shirt, give up working out and eat chips on the couch from time to time. I'm just saying maybe Rambo should be Bert.

Sounds like Rambo has his work cut out for him!

What a fine looking chap he is, even from that angle. I'm sure the girls will soon be fighting for his attentions!

My goodness me, Rambo has excited a lot of girly comment here - little does he know that he now has a fan club!

One year we put in three newly arrived Texals in with the girls. For about three weekd the boys just played at being boys, pushing each other about in the shade while the ladies had cups of tea in the kitchen. They take their time....

Wow. He is a big lad, isn't he?

I have been thinking about you recently as I am reading a book that brings your wonderful sheep to mind. It's entitled Three Bags Full and it's such a fun read, you should pick it up. The author is Leonie Swann and it's the tale of how a flock of sheep solve their shepherd's murder. I am enjoying it immensely.
